On Fridays, instead of the regular Dhuhr (midday) prayer, Muslims gather for a special communal prayer known as Jummah Namaz. This gathering is more than just a prayer; it includes a khutbah (sermon) that provides guidance, reminders, and moral teachings. Jummah prayer, or Friday Salah, is a unique and highly significant prayer for Muslims, performed in congregation every Friday during the Dhuhr time. It begins with a Khutbah (sermon) followed by two units (rakats) of prayer, replacing the usual four rakats of the Dhuhr prayer. Importance of Participating in Jummah Prayer: Abu Hurairah (RA) shared: The Mediator of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The five every day (prayers), and from one Salat al Jummah prayer to (the after) Jummah prayer, are forgiveness (of the sins decided in among), so high as major sins break out.” (Sahih Muslim, Book 2, Hadith 448)
