MANILA, Philippines — The official list of holidays and non-working days for 2025 has been released. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has issued Proclamation No. 727 declaring the regular 1 Mar (Saturday): Ramadan Start (Tentative Date) – Marks the beginning of the Islamic holy month of fasting. 20 Mar (Thursday): March Equinox – A seasonal event marking the start of spring. 31 Mar (Monday): Eidul-Fitar (Tentative Date) – A regular holiday celebrating the end of Ramadan. WHEREAS, on 25 February 2025 (Tuesday), the country will commemorate the 39th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution which ushered political, social, and economic reforms in the country, thus, may be declared as a special working day; Even though Ramadan Start falls on Saturday, March 1, 2025, it is a working day. According to the President’s proclamation signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Oct. 30, the following regular holidays and special days for the year 2025 shall be observed in the country: Regular Holidays: New Year’s Day – 1 January (Wednesday) Araw ng Kagitingan – 9 April (Wednesday) Maundy Thursday – 17 April However, March 31, 2025, holds significance for the Muslim community as it is anticipated to be the start of Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan.
