During Ramadan, devoted Muslims in the UAE will stop eating and drinking from dawn to dusk. Special nightly prayers called Taraweeh will be performed at mosques around the country. It looks like we’ll have at least 12 public holidays in the UAE this year, with an additional day off if Ramadan is a 30-day month this year. The first long break of the year will be for Eid Al Fitr which comes after the month of Ramadan at the beginning of the Islamic Hijri calendar month of Shawwal. If Ramadan lasts 29 days: Eid Al Fitr will begin on Sunday, March 30, 2025, and the public holiday will run from Sunday, March 30, to Wednesday, April 2 – giving us a 4-day break.
