KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has shared new office and business hours for banks during Ramadan 2025. From Monday to Thursday, the SBP, all banks, and development finance institutions will operate from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a prayer break from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM. On Fridays, the hours will be from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM without a break. The SBP Bank Holiday on the first Ramadan of 2025 aligns with the annual tradition of Zakat deduction in Pakistan’s banking system. Customers are advised to plan their transactions accordingly and utilize digital banking services on the day when physical banking operations will be halted. As per predictions, Ramadan in Pakistan will begin on March 2, 2025, based on moon visibility calculations. The new moon is expected to occur on February 28, but due to its low altitude and distance.
