According to the verse, a Muslim cannot skip the fast of Ramadan unless he/she is sick or on a journey. Therefore, witnessing the month of Ramadan itself is the intention (niyyah) of a Muslim to fast. “The intention (niyyah) means resolving to fast. It is essential to have the intention the night before, night by night, in Ramadan.” (Fatawa al-Lajnah al-Daimah, vol. 10, p. 246) The Ramadan fasting dua is a prayer that Muslims recite during Ramadan to ask for Allah’s help and guidance. It is a way of thanking Allah for all the blessings He has bestowed upon us, and it is a reminder to stay focused on Allah throughout the month. The “roza rakhne ki niyyat” (intention for keeping the fast) serves as a silent promise between you and Allah (SWT). It signifies your unwavering commitment to observing the fast and seeking His pleasure. Reciting the dua (supplication) before dawn each day of Ramadan formally sets this intention. When the crescent is sighted in your area or country, a niyyat, that is, a silent declaration of intention should be made to fast during this sacred month to attain nearness to Allah (wajib qurbatan ila-Allah). Muslims fast for the whole month of Ramadan. Every day from pre-dawn till dusk, Muslims are required to fast which means they cannot eat, drink, or have sexual relationships with their spouses. But the first step of fasting is niyat (intention) or dua. Ramadan is a holy month of worship, study of the holy Quran, prayer salat, and fasting. Ramadan happens during the month in which Muslims believe that the Quran began to be revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. Rasoolullah ﷺ used to fast frequently in the months of Rajab and Shaban because leading to Ramadan. Prophet Muhammad s.a.w said: " There is no fast for the person who did not intend to fast from the night before." (Abu Daud). It is imperative to determine the intention every night prior to the day of fast. The intention may even be made just a moment before Fajr. The Ramadan fast and other acts of worship are not valid unless accompanied by the proper intention. This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Actions are but by intentions, and everyone shall have but that which he intended” (Narrated by al-Bukhari, 1; Muslim, 1907) Wa bisawmi ghadinn nawaiytu min shahri ramadan I intend to keep the fast for tomorrow in the month of Ramadan. Niyyah is an Arabic word that translates to “intention” or “purpose”. The more nuanced meaning of Niyyah is to have an intention, in the heart of the believer, to do any given act of ibadah strictly and only for Allah. Niyyah is a declaration of an intention marking the beginning of an act of Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic Hijri Calendar, during which Muslims indulge in the acts of fasting from dawn till sunset, praying and spiritual reflection. Imam Abu Hanifah said, “Fasting the month of Ramadan is valid if one intends to fast in any time of the day before the declination of the sun from the meridian.” Simply put, just to be on the safe side, it is better to stay cautious and make Niyyah to observe a fast the next day, every night before sleeping in Ramadan. It falls within the last ten nights of Ramadan; The entire month of fasting is Ramadan. Among the five foundations of Islam is fasting. Every year, the start and end dates of Ramadan are different. Because the lunar cycle provides the basis for the Islamic calendar. In 624 CE, fasting throughout Ramadan was instituted for the first time.
