Muslims across the country will begin this year’s Ramadan fasting on March 1, with the first day for sighting of the moon to start on Friday, February 28, says a communiqué issued at the 31st Annual National Ramadan Conference held in Accra and signed by the Deputy National Secretary, Alhaji Baba N. Dawud. Ramadan is not uniformly observed globally — the start date can vary by country or even be different mosque to mosque in the same city for a variety of reasons.
