Ramaḍân is the month in which the Quran was revealed as a guide for humanity with clear proofs of guidance and the decisive authority. So whoever is present this month, let them fast. But whoever is ill or on a journey, then ˹let them fast˺ an equal number of days ˹after Ramaḍân˺. It should he noted here that fasting in Ramadan has not only been declared an act of worship and devotion and a means to nourish piety but has also been characterized as an act of gratefulness to God for His great bounty of true guidance in the form of the Qur’an. Shahru ramadan means manifestation of inner burning. As we noted in our study, this originally refers to the Quran study projects mentioned elsewhere (see 73:20, 73:1-7; cf. 47:24, 23:68, 3:79, 4:82) wherein those believers who experienced shahru ramadan, i.e., burning questions and disquieting Transliteration: Shahru Ramađāna Al-Ladhī 'Unzila Fīhi Al-Qur'ānu Hudáan Lilnnāsi Wa Bayyinātin Mina Al-Hudá Wa Al-Furqāni The Holy Qur`an descended completely to the lower sky, from the Preserved Tablet (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz), in Ramadan. This was recorded in the Two Sahihs. شَهۡرُ رَمَضَانَ ٱلَّذِیۤ أُنزِلَ فِیهِ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ هُدࣰى لِّلنَّاسِ وَبَیِّنَـٰتࣲ مِّنَ ٱلۡهُدَىٰ وَٱلۡفُرۡقَانِۚ فَمَن شَهِدَ مِنكُمُ ٱلشَّهۡرَ فَلۡیَصُمۡهُۖ وَمَن كَانَ مَرِیضًا أَوۡ عَلَىٰ سَفَرࣲ فَعِدَّةࣱ مِّنۡ أَیَّامٍ أُخَرَۗ یُرِیدُ ٱللَّهُ بِكُمُ ٱلۡیُسۡرَ وَلَا یُرِیدُ بِكُمُ ٱلۡعُسۡرَ وَلِتُكۡمِلُوا۟ ٱلۡعِدَّةَ وَلِتُكَبِّرُوا۟ ٱللَّ Shahru Ramadan شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ is that obvious, apparent, familiar moment or time of internal friction when the mind clearly understands there is unease from intense dissonance, friction, clash between belief/behavior or belief/belief.
