Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar; the month cycles through the seasons. The start of the month traditionally depends on the sighting of the crescent moon. This year, the first day is expected to be on or around March 1. They start in the first night of Ramadan before our fasting day. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: On the first night of the month of Ramadan, the Shayatin are shackled, the jinns are restrained, the gates of the Fires are shut such that no gate among them would be opened. The first night of Ramadan introduces a period where every good deed is multiplied in reward.
